As we approach Christmas 2025 here is information on our work over the past few months since our launch at the end of April 2025.

We have received 11 referrals for beds and bedding from schools in Rhyl and in adjacent towns in Denbighshire.

Most have come from Family Support Workers with some from Deputy Head teachers and we have supplied families with a total of 10 single beds and 3 bunk beds with all the necessary bedding so that 16 children now have a comfortable and warm place to sleep.

Each family story is unique but domestic abuse, mental health issues and families living in difficult home circumstances are common themes with real financial challenges. Children sleeping on mattresses, sharing beds with siblings or in some cases having no bed have all been reported to us.

We are looking to become a CIO with Charity Commission registration early in 2026. This should enable us to access different funding streams as we look to potentially expand our work  in North Wales and Chester. We fund all the beds and bedding so if you can help us please look at our Donate page to find out how to do so.

Please note we do not upcycle / recycle beds and all our bedding is purchased new however we would accept any NEW bedding donations ie duvets, duvet covers, pillows, pillow cases and bed sheets at the Sussex Street Christian Centre, Sussex Street, Rhyl LL18 1SE
