Summer 2026 has been an exciting time for The Lishon Project. Although the summer holidays means we have a break from referrals our work hasn’t stopped!
We are now a registered CIO charity with the charity commission and we have been able to secure funding support from The Neumark Foundation (https://theneumarkfoundation.com) which will enable us to plan our services for the new term.
We are going to be expanding our service to other parts of Denbighshire and beyond so communication with appropriate schools and staff will be needed. We are also looking to help children in parts of Chester so again contacts and planning will be needed.
Since our launch at the end of April 2025 we have received 23 referrals for beds and bedding. The majority have come from Family Support Workers but also from teaching staff and we have supplied families with 22 single beds, 7 bunk beds plus 1 mattress together with all the necessary bedding so that 37 children now have a comfortable and warm place to sleep.
Each family story is unique but domestic abuse, mental health issues and families living in difficult home circumstances are common themes with real financial challenges.

Please note we do not upcycle / recycle beds and all our bedding is purchased new however we would accept any NEW bedding donations ie duvets, duvet covers, pillows, pillow cases and bed sheets at the Sussex Street Christian Centre, Sussex Street, Rhyl LL18 1SE
